Insides on the Outside

Here is a Science project we did today. So, I told you yesterday we are reading Madeline for our FIAR curriculum. In this book, Madeline was rushed to the hospital because of her appendix. I got this fun Science project from here. Here are some pictures...

Heidi got a hold of the manicotti noodles we used for the spine.

For some reason she loved them.

Crazy child!

Once Hailee saw Heidi get into them she wanted some.

Ummm... Yum!

Here is her wearable body parts. LOL!

We talked about how when she eats food it goes down her esophagus to her stomach (the bottom baggy connected to the esophagus) and, once her stomach makes her food smaller it goes down into the intestines and then she poops it out. I told her everyone poops and toots. God made everyone the same (in that way). We also talked about our lungs and how we need them to breath. The two straws she is blowing into are connected to the lungs (baggies) and they inflate and deflate.

Here is her spine.

This was a fun project and I think she actually learned something. LOL!

Homeschool fun and a little Extra

This is a little what has/is going on today in the Greene house. This week with FIAR (Five in a Row) curriculum we are reading Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans. There is the coolest website for homeschool moms to share any creative thing they have done with the curriculum you are using. The website is... http://www.homeschoolshare.com/. I got this fun art project from this website... which included all the material I needed, the arms, legs, head, and directions. Check my blog tomorrow for a SUPER cool Science project we will be doing. :o)

She is very proud of her Madeline.

Up close and personal...

I made a tent for them this afternoon instead of going outside in the after rain humidity Houston provides for all it's residents.

I am pretty proud of this tent. High-five for Mom!

Hailee loves her a tent.

Mediate on these things...

"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you" Philippians 4:4-9

Just a little bit of God's word I ran into today while doing the wrong day of my Bible study. Oh well... *smiling*

A Little Personal...

I meant to post this last night but, things got a little busy with mani and pedi night here at the house with us girls and movie night with Bob.

I want to share a little something special. Since making the decision to homeschool and taking a new path the good Lord has laid before us I have been asking God "why?". "Why me?". I had a perfect little plan for Hailee and looked forward to having me time and Heidi and me time. He has graciously put me in my place and has showed me nothing is really about me. It is about Him! I have been praying and asking Him "Why is it that You want me to homeschool?". A little at a time He has revealed different reason why He chose this path for us.

But, one very special thing happened last night... we were a Lowe's getting a new weed eater (sp?) and we were on our way to checkout. Bob was pushing Heidi in the cart and Hailee and I were taking our sweet little time behind them. Then, sweet little Hailee grabbed my hand to hold it. This my not seem big to you but, Hailee and I usually don't have these little moments. Hailee usually holds Bob's hand but, never my own. It was such another sweet reminder of God's perfect little plan. I love seeing things laid out... no matter the time I have to wait.

I am so very thankful for this path He has us on and I can't wait to see what He has in store next.

Oklahoma Trip 2010

Here are pictures from our trip to Oklahoma. I know there are a lot but, it was hard to pick and choose. :o) I hope you enjoy a little glimpse of our FUN vacation :o).

Steeber and Nana (my dad and step-mom) got Hailee this Dora tricycle for her birthday and they got Hailee a Princess bike. They both are staying up there for when we visit.

Meghan (my sister) and Hailee
Heidi being sweet to Sadie (she is pointing out her eyes).
Swim time.

Meghan is good with the girls and they both love her.

Hailee trying to hold her breath as she sits on Bob's back as he swims.

Love it!

We went and stayed on the lake for 4 days and had a blast. Heidi was obsessed with the captain's seat and all the little buttons to push :o).

Hailee and Bob.

Heidi really driving now. She was so serious.

I love this picture. Hailee's turn to drive :o).

I love this picture because of Heidi's face looking at Bob. She thinks he is the world.

And he thinks she is the world too.

Me with the girls.

Hailee loves Meghan and playing on her cell phone :o).
I love this picture. Fishing time!

Here is my other sister, Michelle. She likes to be alone in the quiet. I loved this picture and the lighting.

So, in this picture she caught a fish and she was so excited. I didn't get a picure of the fish because it unhooked itself and hooped around back into the water. Oh well... at least I got a pictue of her face :o)
This is very serious.
Heidi was so tired and hot but, she stuck in there like a champ.
So sweet.

Steeber (grandpa) and Heidi.

Feeding the fish.

Here is Michelle. Isn't she pretty?

These fish were huge and they would eat anything!
