Psalm 3: The Lord Helps His Troubled People

This verse really spoke to me, so I thought I would share.

Lord, how they have increased who troubled me!
Many are they who rise up against me.
Many are they who say of me,
"There is no help for him in God."

But you, Oh Lord, are a shield of me (Amen.),
My glory and the One who lifts up my head (Amen.).
I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill (Amen.).

I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustained me,
I will not be afraid of the ten thousands of people (Amen.)
Who have set themselves against me all around.

Arise, O Lord;
Save me, O my God!
For you have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone;
You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Salvation belongs to the Lord (Amen.).
Your blessing is upon your people.

It spoke to me even more after I typed it (Amen.).

I just thought this Psalm was so beautiful. Our Father is always with us. He is with us through the worst of time and the best of times. He receives glory through both. What an awesome God we have. Don't you think?

Oh by the way... The Amens are from me :o).

Psalm 1

So, I am following what my friend Mere is doing. I am reading a Psalm a day; to get God's word in and to "live" it. This Psalm is such a perfect one to start with (maybe that is why it is Psalm 1). LOL! Anyways... here it is...

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night,

He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in the season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper,

The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Makes you think... huh?

Here is a reference to this verse... James 1:22, 25

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Amen.

The End of Time.

I know this is kind of crazy to talk about, but I was with my "girls" tonight (accountability group with 5 women) and Mere brought up the End Times. Anyways... we were talking about if we (I know a little selfish) were ready. Yes, we want to all be with our Father, but we also want to stay with our family and watch our kids grow old and all that stuff that goes with it. I totally get it and let me just say and bring up a few things.

I am so ready to be with my Father. I am okay if I had to die tomorrow and go and live with my most wonderful beautiful loving Father. Yes, when I think about it right now I don't want to leave my family. I want to raise my kids with Bob and watch them grow into beautiful loving women. But, if I was to go tomorrow it would be okay. Bob probably isn't on the same page as I am, but I am here to live for Jesus while here on earth and to plant seeds everywhere I go (this is something that I think we all struggle with, but I am working on it :o). To be Jesus with skin on. Through this I know I am going to be with my Lord and Savior! I can't wait to see and hear everything Heaven has to offer :o).

Are you ready? I know we are not at all sinless (far from it), but we can work on that and confess our sins. I struggle everyday with my prayer life. I so yearn for my heart to be completely changed. To be what I consider "perfect". I have noticed a little change by just the discernment the Lord has so graciously made me aware of. So, I am working on my attitude. I also struggle with my part of learning God's word and reading it and having Him speak through it. I know He will and I so desperately want to hear Him, but I know what I have to do. I have to put Him first. Not second... FIRST! Why is that so hard?

I so desperately want the people I love so much to be in Heaven with me and I don't know if they all will be. And it makes me sad. Sometimes I wish it wasn't so hard to talk about religion and I wish it would be so easy to talk about everything you want to know. All the questions you had would just be out there and no one would judge, but just talk and have a OPEN conversation about it all. Anyone with me?

I know Heaven is going to be GLORIOUS! I know there are loved ones already there waiting for me. The road maybe tough on my way to Heaven (if the End Times happens before I die or just everyday life) and I don't know what is going to happen to me and my family, but I know God knows and I am going to fight my hardest for my Father Jesus Christ.

I think this is all I have to say. I want you all to know (if you don't already) I am an open book. If you have a question about me and my faith... ASK! We can have a great conversation with no judgement :o). I am continuing everyday to learn and have a prayer life and teach my kids about the love their Almighty Lord has for them.

Love you all!!!

Vacation Bible School

I can not tell you how well this week is going... there are no words. God has truly been at Kingsland Baptist Church this week working all ways. Here are just a few blessings that I have come a cross. I am sure everyone else can vouch for some other glorious blessings.

1. My partner, Sarah. She is such a glorious blessing. She is an AWESOME 2nd grade teacher and guess what we are teaching... 2nd grade! She knows exactly how to talk to the kids and keep their attention and knows how to deal with them. I have and continue to learn from her everyday. She says it is because she has been teaching for 6 years, but I think it is more than that (I think it is our wonderful glorious God). Sarah if you read this... I love you! You are such a blessing in my life and I am so glad we are friends and can't wait to grow closer in our friendship and in God together. Oh... I forgot to say... we work really well together and are open and can tell eachother things that are bother us ;o).

2. We have some very AWESOME KSM (Kingsland Student Ministry) workers. They are 2 girls (Belle and Ashley) and they are both 16 years old. I don't think it is very normal to get older KSM workers, but God so graciously gave these wonderful girls to us. They are so very helpful and are so open and willing to help. I also am going to use them as babysitters :o). God is so GREAT!

3. We have a great 2nd Grade team. They are all here to work with the kids to get them to understand God and how wonderful and loving and forgiving He is no matter what. They are all so friendly and helpful to everyone.

4. The KIDS! No they aren't perfect, but they are a great group. Yes, there are those few that make us work :o) and keep an eye out, but really they are sweet too :o). We are now just starting to see how the kids are and what they need. There are a few asking those questions that lead them to their salvation. I pray even after VBS is over that the fire will continue to burn in them and grow larger until they can't hold it in any longer.

5. I was so worried about Heidi. Her normal schedule is 2 naps... one nap at 9:30 and another at 2:00. I was scared she would be cranky pants and be miserable all day. BUT again GOD. That is all I can say... Heidi has hung in there all day. After I go get her we have to go back to our class and get ready for the next day and she has been PERFECT! No crying! As soon as we get in the car she instantly falls asleep. Then we get home and I get Heidi out of the car and put her in bed and she sleeps for 2 hours. YES... 2 hours... this is what I need to keep her schedule on because she sleeps great! Oh yea... the teachers for the babies are AWESOME!

6. God was with whoever made the VBS material. I think this VBS material is AWESOME! The music is AWESOME and so FUN for the kids! Again... GOD!!!

There has been so many more things going on that is all GOD, but these are just a few I can think of the top of my tired head. Tomorrow is our last day and I am sad, but also so tired :o). I just can not say it enough...

GOD IS SO AWESOME, GREAT, FORGIVING, LOVING, FAITHFUl... man there are just not enough words.

Random stuff...

Hello all. Our computer died again and my step-brother, Rich fixed it for us. It was pretty messed up. We did lose everything. Even my pcitures but I have most of my pictures on my blog and Facebook, so most of the pictures are saved (I only lost May and what I had of June). Then on Saturday Mindy and I had another cooking day (cooking for a month in one day). It was a really successful day! Bob went out with Rich and Bernadette Saturday night for Rich's birthday and I think they had a great time. I stayed home and sat on my butt and watched The Women. It was an okay movie.

Sunday, was a good day. The girls and I went to church and Bob stayed home and did yard work that has been having to be put off for a week. Tomorrow is the first day of VBS, so Sarah and I worked hard on our room to get it all ready for about 25 kids tomorrow. It looked good when we left :o)! I am so ready to finally be done with all this preparation and finally have the kids to teach :o).

S0 lately I have really been consumed with how I am towards my family, Bob, my friends, and of course God. Not that I am worried about what people think of me, but how I am living in the Word and trying to "live it". I am trying to change myself into the better. I am trying to be a more loving, understanding, submisive wife and mother (submisive to Bob :o). This is something I am really struggling with as I see friends and family not being what I thought they were ("living it"). I don't know if this is making any sense but it is really hard to talk about and put into words. I am really going to need to pray and speak to God about all this and STOP and listen (listening is an issue I have :o).

Today (Monday) was the first day of VBS and it went GREAT! The only inncodent we had was a kid decorating his boomerang with paint dots. I think he was squeezing the paint container really tight and then it exploded like a volcano. The paint exploded out of the container all over the little boys hair, clothes, it sprayed the wall and window behind him. It was a mess to clean up. Then when I was in the process of cleaning up the wall I told all the kids not to take off the plastic peice holding in all the paint (this was before I realized he squeezed the paint container to death) and 2 other little boys said "Where." "What piece of plastic." LOL! I said "Don't worry about it." Well the little boy that asked me What piece ended up spilling paint everywhere except he pulled the plastic part out and it went everywhere (no where near the first explosion). That was about it for today. Tomorrow will be just as great!

Hailee had a great time in her VBS class and has a memory verse to memorize before tomorrow :o). Heidi could have probably done without today though. I picked her up and she was tired and ready for a nap. She did well though :o).

I of course had to add Hailee in here :o). I love her so much!

Tunnel Fun!

I just thought this pictures I took the other night were funny and cute. Hailee and Heidi love playing together. Hailee is the BEST big sister!

Yes, Hailee is in there.

Sea World Trip

This weekend (Friday-Monday) we went to San Antonio and we met my dad, Tracy (my step-mom), Michelle (sister), and Meghan (other sister) and we did 2 days at Sea World. Here is our adventure...

Friday we left around 11:00 a.m. and went to drop Chloe at Inez' house (a good friend). Then we were on the road around 12:00 p.m. and it was an okay drive. I drove and Bob went in the back and took care of Heidi (I know I have a great husband). We didn't have to stop once! We got to San Antonio around 2:30 p.m. (well maybe more like 3:00... we did miss our exit and had to turn around a few times :o). When we finally got downtown we couldn't go to the hotel because my dad booked two rooms and we had to wait for him before we could get in our room. So, we went to find a parking spot (it is hard to find parking down in San Antonio especially when you haven't driven there before). Anyone agree?
Once we found parking (in a parking lot :o) we got out and went to walk around and guess what we ran into... the Alamo. LOL! Bob had never been to the Alamo, so we headed that way. Here are some pictures...

When we were walking around outside to Alamo my dad called and they were at the hotel, so we left and headed that way (it was only a few blocks away but we had to go get our van first). We ended up using their vallet (my dad told us to) and Bob and I had never done vallet before. It was all new to us, but kind of interesting. We went up to our room, got situated, and left again. We were off to go find some food. We had the hardest time finding where all the resturants were and there was so much construction going on on the Riverwalk that we had to do all kinds of detours (let me tell you detours are not fun when you have a Big Stinkin' stroller). Oh well... I guess I got a workout in. We ended up finding a Mexican Resturant it was called something like Mexican in Manhattan or Manhattan Mexican. When I saw the name of the resturant I was kind of scared, but I was going to be brave. LOL! We ate and drank and had a good time. After we were done we went and walked up and down the Riverwalk. Good times!

Saturday, our first day at Sea World and it was HOT! We kind of got a late start but that was okay. When we first got there of course I forgot something in the van and Bob willingly ran back to the car (I know he is AWESOME! and no he never reads my blogs... LOL!). The first thing we did was greased up with sunscreen and then we were off to see the Clydesdales, second we went and checked out the Dolphins (they weren't feeding them then but we got to see other people get splashed), third we went to see SHAMU!!! Everyone kept talking to Hailee about Shamu and Hailee would just smile and be all giddy with everyone (acting like she new what they were talking about), but she had new clue who Shamu was. Then I think she was amazed by the Killer Whales! She couldn't keep her eyes of them. It was pretty cool!

My dad and family had been there before and knew what was really good and what we had to go see. So, after Shamu we went and saw the "dolphin" show (Viva Show). Let me tell you that was an AWESOME show. There was acrobatic stunt stuff, diving, synchrinizing swimming, and oh... dolphins. It was really great! There was so much to watch at that show. Then finally we were so hot... we had to go cool off. We headed to the water park. Yes... Sea Worls has a water park. We didn't know that... it was a great water park :o). After we were done there we were done for the day and left the park and headed to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. It was a FUN HOT day!

Sunday started out better. We had a time we were going to be out of the hotel (8:30 a.m.) and then we were going to go have breakfast at Cracker Barrel. We got to the park and guess what... yes... I forgot something in the van again :o). Bob loves me and yes... he willingly ran to the car again for me (what a great guy!). When he got back we power walked to the Sea Lion show. It was really good too! It is so amazing to me how all these trainers teack all these different animals. I would LOVE to work with all these sea animals! I just don't have the smartness for all the schooling. After the Seaa Loin show we headed to this 4-D show inside a theater on a screen. The people warned us that we would get wet (I was not very happy about that but I dealt with it). It was a good little show but it scared the little kids... LOL! As they are wearing these "cool" glasses and things are popping out at them (I think the crabs did it for Hailee) and then air blowing down by your feet when there were crabs on the screen. Hailee and Heidi had to be escorted out by daddy (they weren't very happy :o). After the show, it was roller coaster time. Yes... I went on a roller coaster and do you want to know what it was called... Steel Eel. LOL! I know... We have a great picture (you know those pictures they take of you as you are going down the scary part and you have an ugly picture of yourself) and let me tell you my face is so SCARY (if you want to see the picture then come on over (it is on our TV stand (thanks to Bob))). Bob said I was a screaming banchee... LOL! It was fun, but I was done with roller coasters for the day. My dad and Bob went on another roller coaster called The Great White. LOL! They had a good time together!

We sat and ate some lunch (we were so hungry). Tracy and I did some shopping and then it was off to cool off in the water park again. It was a good day at Sea World but I think I can vouche for everybody and say we were ready to go! When we left the park we decided to go to Benihana for dinner (I love that place). It was another great day (I think I said that already :o)!!

Our final day was here and it was time for us all to pack up our stuff and leave. We went and had breakfast together and then headed home. As soon has we left the resturant Heidi was out and she slept about half way. She was pooped! We went and picked Chloe up and then headed home.

Everyone was so HAPPY to be home! Then we all took great naps (except Bob)! Bob had to wake us all up around 4:00 p.m. It was a very tiring weekend but so much FUN!

I know I wrote about our whole trip and what we did (I did forget some stuff, but you get the idea) but I didn't say much about Hailee and Heidi and what kind of time they had. So here goes...

Heidi could have done without this trip... LOL! Poor thing was forced to miss her naps and she was fighting sleep the whole time. Eventually each day she just couldn't keep her eyes open any longer and passed out. She was so hot the whole day that I think (I know) she was miserable, but you know she is such a troop. Heidi did not cry at all (until the end of the last day at Sea World). We ended up buying one of those spray bottles that have that fan on them and you can mist yourself with water (best thing we bought all weekend!). That little water bottle fan thing was great! Steeber (my dad) and Nana (my step-mom) loved to see Heidi and said she was such a good and happy baby :o). She really was and I thank God for her and how well she deals with things. Thank you, Lord!

Hailee LOVED Sea World!!!! She loved everything about it! She was such a big girl and walked around and didn't whine... she had such a good time! I can't say it enough because she had a smile on her face the ENTIRE time. She loved spending time with Steeber, Nana, Michelle, and Meghan and she can't wait to see them again.

It was so fun and I hope y'all all enjoy the pictures...
