2nd Trip to the Beach

This was our second trip to the beach in 4 days. I know we are fun people! We went with our playgroup... well a few people from our playgroup... Val and her kids (Jack and Sam), Amanda and her kid (Camden), Mindy, her husband Roger and their kids (Titus and Jonas), and Andrea and her kids (Ella and Corrine). Andrea's family is who owns the beach house where we went to today. Unfortunately we got rained on, but we still had a great time.

To everyone that made the trip out to the beach today: Y'all are so much fun and I am so glad I can call you all friends! I love you and your kiddos :o)!

Jon and Kate

I don't know about y'all, but I love Jon and Kate Plus 8. The end of last season I was so for sure there wasn't going to be anymore episodes. I was thinking that was it for them; since all the kids are going to be in school next school year. I was thinking what else could they tape about these kids. LOL! All through that last season I could tell something wasn't right. Kate didn't seem like herself (not as happy and talkative). Then at the end of the last season I noticed she was kind of coming back to the "old Kate". That last episode from last season was sad. You could tell Jon was done. He wasn't happy, but Kate still loved it. *Red Flag*

This season has started off so sad. It breaks my heart to see them like this. I have been watching older episodes and wish they were watching those to remember how they use to be. One old episdoe I saw today they were in their interview time and they were talking about how much more in love they were than when they first got married. I was just thinking... they probably never thought they would be where they are now. It really just breaks my heart. It is like we know them and their family because of how much they share with all of us . It seems like everything we have watched about them is completely going down the toilet. It is just so sad to me.

I know I could put so much judgement on the both of them, but I am not. It is not my place. All I can say is that they are not working on their marriage like they should (obiviously). Your marriage should come first and the kids second. They both keep saying they are doing everything for their kids, but really they aren't. Doing everything for your kids is for them to work through this and to stay together. It is going to be hard but they got themselves in this hole and they need to get eachother out together FOR THE KIDS!

Cooking Day!

Wednesday Mindy (a friend) and I cooked an ENTIRE month of food in ONE day! It was a great tiring day! We started around 9:30 a.m. and ended around 5:30 p.m. My brain was mush after cooking. So here is the cooking story...

Mindy has 4 kids but 2 of them are still at home and they are both boys and then I had my 2 girls there too. But, don't think the kids were watching themselves :o). Mindy's sister, Toni was there watching the kids (so nice).

We cooked 12 meals (two breakfasts, one lunch, and nine dinners (all doubled or tripled meals). We had a few set backs. First, I arrived at 8:45 a.m. (I should have been there at 8:30 a.m.) and I had to set up the pack-n-play and get Heidi situated. Second, we were supposed to chop the night before, but we didn't so we (I) had TONS of chopping to do. Third, Mindy's disposal decides to clog. All together it took about an 1 hour or a little more to get that stinkin' sink unclogged. Fourth, after the disposal was unclogged we had a WHOLE BUNCH of dishes to wash :o). Fifth, all the little people were saying they were hungry so we had to stop to eat for a bit. Sixth, Mindy was putting stuff up (crock pot underneath the cabinet) and a bottle of hot sauce fell onto the crock pot and shattered the bottom of the crock pot (one of 4 crock pots). Thank goodness we were done with the crock pots :o). Seventh, it was so HOT! Mindy had the air conditioner on but it was so STINKIN' hot from the oven on and stove on. I am sure there are some more things I am missing but I can't think of them right now :o).

It was a good productive day! We ended up staying there for dinner (we ate one of our meals (Strong Safety Hamburgers)) and the kids played all night. Good times! We are planning another cooking day in June.

Our God is an Awesome God!

I have been debating if I wanted to blog about what God has been doing in my life, but I decided to go ahead and do it. I am not going into every detail, but you will get the picture :o).

So I have been praying to God to work in my and change my heart and how I view things. I kept telling Him I was ready to change and I needed Him. Well day after day, week after week, and month after month it was the same. I kept thinking I was going to be this "awful" mom/wife forever (not that I am awful but you know you are always your worst and hardest critic).

Well my small group (through our Adult Bible Fellowship class on Sundays) has been reading this book called Love and Respect and I had relized I haven't been given Bob much respect and in return I hadn't been getting the love I want. I have also been talking to my accountability group (a group of GREAT women from our Adult Bible Fellowship class on Sundays) about this and other stuff. We have all been praying about this.

Then last week I was reading my Love and Respect book and it clicked. I totally got it! I had to give it ALL to God and that meant giving it up to Bob. Giving that control I thought I needed to Bob. Giving Bob the responsibility of the family. Bob is the head of our family. He is to make all the calls and I am here to support him and love him no matter what. He is to love me as God loved the Church and I am to respect him. I GET IT NOW!

Since God spoke to me I have given it up. I still am having difficulties every once in a while, but when I do try to take it back I hear a little voice saying "what are you doing... STOP!". I will have to say I see things differently, I hear things differently, I treat my family differently, I love my family differently, I am a better friend, I am aware of things more, and I try to think about God through all my situations. I love my God and my husband!

On another note... I did a month of cooking in one day yesterday. It was a long fun day! I will be posting more about this soon, but I am waiting on pictures from Mindy (my baking partner!).

1st Dentist Trip

Today Hailee had her first dentist appointment. We have been talking about it for about a week getting her prepared for it all. There was actually a thing on dentists on Sesame Street. They talked all about what the dentists do and made it seem so fun. After Hailee learned all about the dentist she was talking about what kind of toothpaste she wanted her teeth cleaned with. How I miss the small things in life.

When we got there I had to fill out some paper work and next thing I knew we were on our way to the back. Hailee got to brush her teeth (by herslef). Then we walked to the back and Hailee got to pick out a stuffed animal (all the animals had big mouths with teeth). She picked out a horse (obvious). The lady said her name was Henryetta the Horse. LOL! Hailee got to help clean the Henryetta's teeth and see what all the different tools were that were going to be used in her mouth.

Once Hailee was done cleaning Henryetta's mouth it was time to get her teeth cleaned. The lady got Hailee to lay on the table and she talked Hailee through it all and sang songs as she was checking her teeth and cleaning them. It was pretty cool! I wish dentists would do that while working on my teeth. I think I would probably go more often :o).

After Hailee got her teeth cleaned they took her to get her teeth X-rayed. The x-ray pictures were so cool. The pictures showed her teeth but then showed all her permenant teeth coming through her jaw bone. It was really cool! LOL!

Hailee was such a big girl! She didn't say a word the whole time, but she had a huge smile on her face the entire time.

So I've been tagged as a fellow Queen of all things Awe-summmm. The rules: List seven things that make me awe-summm and then pass the award on to seven other people who I think are fabulously awe-summm. This is going to be kind of hard for me because right now I can't think of anything awesome about me. Can I ask Bob for help? Here goes...

1. I am awesome for having and loving an AWESOME God! I am growing so much and I feel my AWESOME God moving all around me and my families lives.

2. I gave birth to Heidi totally nature and I think that is pretty awesome of me! It hurt so bad, but I am so glad I did it and everything worked out great.

3. I am totally awesome with horses. LOL! You may think I am crazy, but I have a really "tight" closeness with horses.

4. I am getting a lot awesomer at cooking. I baked a lot of muffins today and froze half of them, so we will have breakfast/snacks forever (well not forever but a while). Soon I will be doing a Once a Month cooking with a friend next week (cooking all in one day for a month).

5. I am pretty awesome to be married to a man that works hard and loves his family so very much. He is usually up for anything and deals with me on a daily basis. Love you Bob (he never reads this but who knows he might)!

6. I am a pretty awesome baby maker. Bob and I (and God) make the most beautiful babies! That is all I have to say about that.

7. One more awesome thing about me... I am awesome in this last way by saying crazy things when it has nothing to do with anything or anyone. Is that awesome or what? Okay maybe I am being a little sarcastic... but I am pretty awesome because when I do this it makes everyone laugh and it is pretty cool to make people laugh.

I am supposed to tag 7 people.... here goes... Julie P., Hannah H., Mindy C., Becky M., Jenn L., and that is all the people I can think of. Good Luck!

Mother's Day

I know this post is late, but I had to post about my Mother's Day.

What I wanted for Mother's Day was for Hailee and I to get our nails done together. Hailee is at that age now where she would really enjoy it and remember this experience together.

So Saturday, was the beginning of my Mother's Day. Hailee had her Gymnastic Mayfest where all the kids showed off what they had been learning all year (see post below). Then we came home and all the kids took a nap and then Hailee and I headed off to get our nails done. Hailee loved it! She was so giddy while the lady was painting her toe nails and when she got a flower put on both big toe nails it just made her day. Then the lady started to paint her finger nails and she got a flower on both thumb nails. Hailee could not stop starring and looking at her nails. She loved the whole experience! It was so great to see her face :o) and that smile. I had a good time too (I got my nasty feet taken care of).

Sunday, we went to church, came home and hung out for a while, and then it was nap time. I love nap time on Sundays because I take one too! Bob cooked a very YUMMY meal! It was so good! I didn't have to clean up or anything (I did fold little kid clothes though). It was a very good Mother's Day!

Then Monday was my birthday! Yes, I got a year older (27 yrs. if you are wondering (not 18 yrs)). It started off kind of rocky. Hailee decided to get up at 6:30 a.m. (when our normal get up time is 7:30 a.m.). I sent her back to bed, but I didn't actually get back to sleep because I kept hearing her bang around in there. Then the late morning early afternoon was nice. We went out and played in the pool and had a good time. Then it was naptime and I was thinking "YES". The day started to go down hill. Heidi took a horrible nap (once she gets up there is no getting her back down). Hailee had gymnastics and then the plan was to head home and pick up Bob (he was leaving work early) and head to Chilli's. We get home a little before 5:30 p.m. (from gymnastics) and Bob is NOT home! I am thinking where the heck is he! I started to call him and next thing I know he is pulling in the drive way. He was held up in traffic. I was so bummed... Heidi was cranky (because of lack of sleep), Bob had no time to take a shower, and I had plans later. I just said lets not go because of everything. I was so disappointed (not at Bob or anyone) about the whole day and how it unfolded. Then it was off to my Girl's Accountability Group meeting. I love those girls! I knew I would feel so much better once I got there with them. It was a brithday... and I have figured out as you get older and have kids a birthday is just another day (you just actually change your age). Thanks to everyone who remembered and sent me a birthday wish! I love you all!

Mayfest 2009

Hailee's gymnastics school that she has been going to all (school) year had their Mayfest today. Mayfest is just a time for all the parents to come and see what they have been paying for... LOL! No really... what their kids have learned. Here is some of what Hailee has learned....

Hailee doing some great work on the bars (thanks Coach Johno).

What a cute little gymnist!

I am not sure what this is called... but it always gives Hailee problems (thanks Coach)

Hailee getting assistance on her cartwheel, then Hailee doing a see-saw (she is good at those), and Hailee showing off her great balance on the balance beam.

Go Hailee!

Hailee got a great looking trophy for all her hard work. She told me she is the little figuring (sp?) on the top of the trophy. When she grows up she said.
