Delicious Recipe

Okay... so I have a friend who likes to share recipes and stuff (Misty) and I think it is really handy and nice. I am not like that though... until today. Bob and I were watching the Food Channel last night and came across Giada (I love her!). As she was making this I was thinking... Oh My Gosh I have to make this. It is so YUMMY!So here it is:

Blueberry and Mascarpone Turnovers

Ingredients:
1/2 c. mascarpone cheese (room temp.)
2 T. sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)
1/2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. lemon vest
1/3 c. fresh or frozen and thawed blueberries
2 (9-inch) refrigerated pie crusts
1 egg, beaten
Vegetable oil, for frying
3 1/2-inch round cookie cutter

Directions:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

In a small bowl, mix together the cheese, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth. Stir in the blueberries.

Using a 3 1/2-inch round cookie cutter, cut the pie dough into 12 circles. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg (I brushed the whole thing). Place 1 1/2 tsps. of the cheese mixture in the center of the dough. Fold the dough in half to enclose the filling and pinch the edge to seal. Using the tines of a fork, gently crimp the sealed edges. Refrigerate for 10 min.

While the pastry is chilling: In a large heavy-bottom sauce pan, pour enough oil to fill the pan about a third of the way. Heat over medium heat until a deep-frying thermometer inserted in the oil reaches 375 degrees F. (If you don't have a thermometer a cube of bread will brown in about 3 minutes.) Fry the turnovers for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes until golden. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powder sugar while still hot. Cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Takin' it Easy

Today, we are just hangin' around the house. Heidi and Hailee are still fighting of this cold/allergy thing. Hailee is doing better but, poor Heidi just has major boogies. I just want her to get better so, I can go to Women's Bible Study tomorrow. She is getting better but, slowly. We have a humidifer in her room which really helps.

Tonight we have church and oooohhh... how I love Wednesday church nights. No cooking or cleaning on these nights. We go and have dinner and then Hailee is off to WAM (they sing and do crafts etc.) and then every other week we have small group Bible Study (not this week).

I really didn't have much to say. I really just wanted to say HI :o)!

It is Amazing...

It is amazing how productive you can be when you start your morning out right. I am getting up at 7:00 a.m. (before the kids get up) and I am starting the day out with some exercise. Man do I feel better everyday! I have started doing this Chore Planning System - Motivated Moms and it is a lifesaver. I have never been a good house keeper and my house is never clean but, with this chore planner things are getting done and everyone is happy. Today, I have cleaned of our desk and let me tell you it was a piled high of just junk I could have just thrown away. Since I hadn't thrown anything away and stuff was just piling up... that means I haven't dusted. Let me tell you it was GROSS but, let me just say... it isn't gross anymore :o). Thanks Misty for telling me about this :o)... Love ya!

Today, hasn't been great. Hailee got some kind of sickness/allergy thing last week and she still has it a bit. When she gets anything that makes her seem sick we try to keep her away from Heidi. And how come when one of your kids get sick (usually the older one) are they always up in the other ones face? I just don't get it. YOU ARE SICK STAY AWAY! Just kidding :o). Well, poor Heidi is sick and she feels HORRIBLE. All she has been doing today is fussing, sleeping, and crying. I just pray that she takes a good LOOONNNGGG nap. I just remembered I have my Bible study to do. You all have a great day!

It Is Tough Being a Woman

Today, was our second Women's Bible Study session and at the end Beth Moore had 3 great verses for women who think they aren't good enough, or just don't think they are pretty enough.

Colossians 2:10
And you are complete in Him,
who is the head of all principality and power.

Song of Solomon 7:10
I am my beloved's,
And his desire is towards me.

Psalm 90:17
And let the beauty of the Lord be upon me. (I changed us to me)

I just though I would share this with you all. I am going to help Hailee (and Heidi when she gets old enough) memorize Psalm 90:17 because I believe that is something she should grow up knowing. She shouldn't have to depend on anyone thinking or saying she is beautiful but, knowing that her God thinks the world of her.

Finally

Heid finally fell asleep after fighting for a little over an hour. I did end up going in there after I wrote on my blog about her crying and she was still so tired. So, I put her in her swing (she never swings at home... it is never needed) and she was swinging probably for 20 minutes (with no fussing) and she finally doozed off. I hope this will be a good little sleep for her so, she will be happy tonight at church. Keep your fingers crossed.

Questions about babies

Heidi woke up today after an hour and a half nap (she didn't have a first nap today). Which is fine and I went in there and got her. I could see right off she wasn't ina good mood. I put her on the floor and laid down next to her and played with her for a while. Then she started getting really fussy so, I went to change her diaper and she was crying (she isn't usually like this). So, I thought maybe she wasn't done with her nap. I turned the lights off and cradled her as sshe held her softy and her eyes started to shut. I laid her down and instant tears so, I picked her up and she was fighting not to suck her thumb and shut her eyes. So now she is laying down in her bed screaming. Why do babies....

1. Cry when they are so tired.
2. Cry when you are trying to help them go to sleep.
3. Cry when all they can do is cry.
4. Cry when they are left alone when no one is coming in.
5. Cry when their diaper is clean and they aren't hungry.
6. Cry after being silent for a few minutes.

These are just a few things that I wonder about sometimes. Even though I have had a baby already and think I know what to expect from the second one. Sometimes I just get stumped. It is so freakin' irritating when you need your time by yourself. It will be okay :o).

I feel so GOOD!

I have been working out to lose weight for 2 weeks now and all together I have lost 6 lbs. I lost 2 lbs. last week and 4 lbs. this week. It feels so GOOD! This is something I want so bad. When I use to be skinny I was the the biggest of my friends. Now I look back and I think I was crazy. I was not big at all. Anyways, I thought I would just give an update before I went to bed. :o)!

President Obama's Inauguration

I don't know if you watched the Inauguration today but, if you didn't it was pretty good. I had tears throughout the ceremony just thinking off all the different things going on in the world and how lucky we are as Americans living free. Also, how awesome he must of felt standing up there in front of millions becoming the first African American President of the United States of America.

If you know me well you know I didn't vote for Obama and was nervous when he won the election. I am not saying a I am not nervous on what is to come now but, I know that our all Mighty Lord is with Obama and the Lord is in control.

I will be praying for our new leader and his new role to get everything back on track. I am very interested to his how he handles and takes care of everything he said he would take care of.

It has been so long...

Hey everyone! My name is Sterling... LOL! It has been so long since I have updated my blog. Gezzz... time has been just flying by. I guess the reason I haven't updated is because I have been so busy.

Since I have decided to lose all my unwanted weight I have been changing everything. We (as a family) have been eating so much better. We are pretty much eating everything organic and I am making a whole lot of everything. I decided since all the (sandwich) bread has all this gunk in it that we don't need I decided I would start making our bread. It is really easy I make 2 loaves a week and they last us and it is good. At first Hailee was not very happy about it but, she told me today "I like this bread.". I am also making our food healthier. 1. it is organic, 2. I am adding veggies (Deceptively Delicious - Get Your Kids Eating Good Food!) inside the food so Hailee doesn't know, and 3. eating more fruits and veggies that we hadn't been doing before.

Don't worry Heidi is not getting gipped. I am making all her baby food now too. I started about 3 weeks ago pureeing all her fruits and I am going to start pureeing everything (Super Baby Food). So she will be so much heathier from the get go. You my be asking yourself why? Because with me making all her food I know exactly what is in it and she is getting exactly what God wants her to get... all natural grown fruit ground up. She doesn't care anyways. All she cares about is getting food in her tummy :o).

I am continuing to workout to lose weight. My big goal is to lose 90 lbs. My goal I am shotting for right now is about 40 lbs. I am going to do it! I bought this thing that is called a Bodybugg (BODYBUGG :: HOW IT WORKS). It counts your calories that you burn throughout the day. I got it yesterday and it is already amazing me. There is also a program that came with it that I can calculate all the the food I consume and how much weight I will lose etc. It is a pretty nifty gadget.

Bob is doing well. He is busy with work and just going with the flow at home :o). We are doing a Bible Study with our small group called Love and Respect. It talks about the love women desperately want and the respect men desperately need. We just started but I will give you an update once we get down into it :o). I am doing a Bible studay at church with a bunch of women called Esther: It is tough being a women. We just started that too but I know this will be good because it is by Beth Moore and she always writes good stuff.

The girls are doing great and are growing so fast. Hailee was tested at school Thursday on stuff she has already learned through out the year and her teacher said she did great. We are so proud of her :o)! Heidi started rolling over (back to front) yesterday and not quit knowing how to get back to her back. LOL! It is hilarious! She will roll over in her bed and be all flustered because she can't get back. It is funny! They are bothing doing great.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Hopefully it won't take me to long next time to blog.

Heidi is 6 months old

Man... soon we will be celebrating Heidi's 1st birthday. Time flys so fast with the 2nd child. The only thing that seems to be happening to me is I am getting older... not wiser or smarter... just older. What a bummer that is!

Anywho... Hailee was off to school today (WoooH000!) and Heidi and I had a doctor's appointment to get to. Heidi's 6 month check up. I dispise going to the doctor because I know it is going to be an all day event. We checked in at about 9:25 a.m. and our appointment was at 9:40 a.m. Everytime I get there a little early I think I will get in to see the doctor a little early. But NOOOO... we were there for 2 HOURS (we were in the car at 11:20)!!! I really like our doctor but, something just isn't right. You know?

Here is the updated Heidi... she weighs 12 lbs. 14 oz. (3-10% of this age), 28 inches long (97%), and her head is 42 cm around (42 cm). My baby is growing but, mostly in height. LOL! I think she is longer than Hailee was at this age but, I will have to check.

Anyways... poor Heidi is sleeping because this day was so long and tramatic but, I will post a 6 month picture of her soon :o).

One more thing...

I don't know if y'all do new year's resolutions. I usually do and they usually don't last long. LOL! But this year I am going to hang in there. My New Year's Resolution is to not be so hard and Hailee. For some odd reason I expect so much out of her... and she is only 4. Don't ask me why I do this but, it just happened. It really started after I had Heidi. I guess I just see so much in her and want her to be what I see. But, there is plenty of time for all that :o). I just shouldn't rush these years and put pressure on her. She will have plenty of pressure later in life.

And of course the biggest resolution of all.... LOSING WEIGHT! LOL! I am really not considering this a New Year's Resolution because if I do I may not stick it out. LOL! I have some friends that I am going to be doing this with. I can't do this on my own and I need an accountability partner :o). It looks like I will have 2 for sure :o). Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers as I make these 2 life changing problems in my life happen and turn into a positive.

Happy New Year!

I thought I would just send a shout out... Happy New Year! I hope you all find yourselves in a good place and conintue it through this New Year.
